The Farmers Wife Quilt A long

Birds In The Air #7
My latest blocks from Farmers Wife Quilt A-long.  I meant to do the Iron Craft challenge for the week but totally spaced it.  I really wanted to do a camp craft.
Broken Dishes #11

Broken Sugar Bowl #12

Bouquet #8
This #8 was a pain in the patoot!  I had to improvise on both the sides and the large triangle.  The larger purple triangle, I had to add 1/4 of an inch.  The whit sides and I had to add about 3/8 of an inch as well.

More blocks!

Homeward Bound, Block #48
More Farmers Quilt A-long.  Join!  It's so much fun to see everyone's colors.
Postage Stamp Block #68
I think the bottom two here are my favorites.  Some of them are a lot of fun.  Some are so fussy and fiddly because they are so small.  I think I have seam ripped on nearly every block.
Bat Wing Block #5

Big Dipper Block #6

Farmers Wife Quilt Along

I joined a new group on Flickr, The Farmers Wife Quilt Along.  You can check it out here. It was started by Amanda and Angela.  Thank you ladies I am enjoying it so much.  The woman, Laurie Hird, who wrote the book has a website here, The Farmers Wife Quilt.

The Farmer’s Wife Sampler Quilt Quilt-Along

I have made a few so far. I love a sampler quilt for its variety. You never get bored of any shape/block. You can make it scrappy too so you will never get bored of any color either. I think that is why I like scrappy quilts so much.

For some reason this one, Big Dipper, came out really small.  I made it twice- cant figure it out.  I need to redo it.
Need to square this one as it is slightly off.

Iron Craft: Scan This

Iron Craft challenge for this week was UPC labels.  I hadnt a clue until the last minute.  I saw this idea at a local thing at the museum with 60 Second Science.  They had all kinds of activites including one with a ton of scrap stuff- egg crates, plastic caps, tubes, masking tape.  There were some pretty amazing creations there.  Robots, castles, you name it.
Mine here has an empty needle case on top and thread spools for arms.  Had an empty wax paper container (took off the blade) and used it as my head.  Doesnt she kinda look like the maid from the Jetsons?
