My daughter's group of teachers has a play every year. No other teacher group does this. We are so very happy to be with these teachers. They do 110 percent really, all the time. They have been loving and caring and I could not ask for a better group of teachers over the past couple years.
THe play they put on this year was Once Upon A Lilypad. My daughter was a blue jay. I whipped together a very simplistic costume for her. I had volunteered last year to help out with the props. In the midst of everything we had a death in our family but somehow I was able to pull it all together. I made the lily pad above. It is big enough for two children to sit on.
I used an old sheet that my Mother had given me. Sometimes those saved things come in handy.
I also had some high loft batting she gave me and some pale green felt that I picked up at a garage sale years ago. Happy to use that too.
My younger daughter had to get in on the action to so here she is sewing her first project- a mini lily pad.
There are the bright lights of the play!
Here is my older daughter in her costume. The beak kinda blends in with the driveway in the background, but you get the idea.
Here are the kids, singing their tunes. They did a SUPER job! So proud of my girls: for the play and learning to sew but really every day I am glad to be their Mom and I am very happy for who they are!
