I did my first stitched hexie for the Jennie of Elefantz stitch along.  Yeah!  I am only two weeks late.  No worries.  I got till Christmas time.  And you know time goes so slow, I will have lots of time to get it done. Okay.  Now back to reality.  I need to get caught up with this stitchery.

If you want to get the pattern (ITS FREE!).  Just head to Jenny of Elefantz.

This is what Jenny's looks like for this week.

Little Squares Pouch

My new little bag.  I was away at retreat this past weekend and could not stop making these square strips.  It just kept growing.  What was I going to do with it?  I didn't know at the beginning.  Then I thought I would make a bag.  So here it is.

Fabric Buckets

I have been making a bunch of fabric buckets for an upcoming craft sale. Really, I wanted to keep them all.  So cute and useful.

 I can't stop making them.
They are great for scraps- either for scrapbooking or sewing.  Putting cosmetics or toiletries in.  They are very firm and stable.

If you are wondering why the labels say Pipers Moon, its because that is the name of my Etsy Shop.

This Little Piggy...

My favorite thing with the kids when they were little...  Wee, wee, all the way home...  So cute.

And so are these piggy blocks.  I just LOVE them.  I think I may need a whole quilt of pigs instead of just a wall hanging.

I am linking up to Let's Bee Social on Sew Fresh Quilts.

Cards

The view out the window coming downstairs in the morning.  If I lived here there would be plants all along these shelves.
 The view across the road.
There may have been sangria there...

My design using the scraps from the kit.

This card and the two below are from Close To My Heart- they were kits.

During a recent scrapbooking retreat I made some cards.  I was suppose to be working on picture pages but I could not stop making cards.  So fun!  They are addictive to me.

Pajama Pants

I have had some fabric saved up for a while to make pj pants.  I bought some more yardage yesterday to make pants.  I figured it was high time to make pajama bottoms.  Now that the weather is cooling off it will be nice to cuddle up in my jammies with a warm cup of tea.
I used a McCall pattern but I had to tweak it quite a bit. The pants were too wide.  I tailored it a little.

New Purse Design

This is my new purse prototype.  I am loving the size.  I love the inset zipper inside.  Love the loop on the side for attaching my keys to.  I love the pockets all around.
But I don't love that the pockets ended up being down so low.  The straps look better in person.  But I have to say I don't love them.  I think I would rather some leather straps... Next time. Its definitely back to the drawing board for this purse design.
My new labels. So exciting.  I have been wanting these for a while.  I used Ikat Print.  They did a fabulous job.  Didn't they? Loved getting my little package all the way from France.
This is my bag before the moment of magic.  You know that moment when you get to open it and see what the final product looks like all together.
 It's emerging.
This is it before I top stitched around the top for the final touches.

My Messenger Bag

I had some scrap corduroy fabric that I bought from a fabric store.  It was part of a bag of scraps that cost me 3 dollars.  Woot woot.  It was a half yard of the flowered print and nearly a half yard of the turquoise solid print.  I decided to make a messenger bag for my daughter.  She weanted a new back pack for school this year.  She has three of them, so I told her I am not buying backpacks this year.  You have several to choose from.  She kept saying she was going to buy one with her own money.  So I made this.  I told her I would give her Monopoly money- a dollar for each chore she did.  When she had 30 dollars, the bag would be hers.  So totally earned on chores.

She is going crazy wanting to get her hands on this bag.  She takes it out of my sewing room and strokes it, looks inside and dreams of having it.  I take it back to my sewing room.  We are nearly at 30.  It will be hers soon.

No pattern, my own design.  I used that flexible stiff type batting.  I love that stuff, especially for something like this where it really needs some body.
My older daughter is modeling it here.

Celtic Solstice

I have been making progress on my Celtic Solstice.  I started it at the beginning of summer.  It was an easy thing to pick up and put down at any given point.  I have made purses and other things in between to because I get distracted.

Oh boy, do I get distracted at the sewing table.  All those colors and ideas flying around.
